Global Progressive Forum

President Bill Clinton will open the Global Progressive Forum on 2-3 April in Brussels. The two day event brings together politicians, trade unions, NGOs and progressive representatives of international organizations to discuss how to create a better globalization for people. Participants confirmed to date include Pascal Lamy, Howard Dean, Barney Frank, Helen Clark, Antonio Guterres, Salima Ghezali, Susan George, Zwelinzima Vavi, and many more. To register click here. PES Leaders call for stronger, bolder recovery plan

PES party leaders meeting just before the EU Summit on 19 March called for a stronger, bolder and better coordinated recovery plan for Europe, as well as for the EU to promote a global new deal at the G20 summit in April.

Success for 1st PES European Day of Action

The PES held its first European Day of Action, the first of five to be held in the run-up to the European election in June, on International Women's Day 2009. Over the weekend of 7-8 March PES member parties in at least 24 countries held events on the theme "Championing Gender Equality".
